Our Experience

Supporting Services
to Reach Exceeding

We have worked directly with long day care, family day care, outside school hours care, and preschool services across Australia β€” supporting educators, nominated supervisors, and approved providers to build strong, evidence-rich quality improvement practices.

Our experience spans the full breadth of the National Quality Standard, with deep knowledge of what regulatory authorities look for during an assessment and rating visit β€” and what genuinely separates a Meeting rating from an Exceeding one.

"Exceeding is not about doing more β€” it's about thinking more critically, reflecting more deeply, and involving families and community in a way that's woven into your everyday practice."

We understand the time pressures on educators and leaders. That's why our feedback is practical, specific, and written to your service's context β€” not generic advice, but actionable guidance you can apply immediately.

Exceeding NQS

The Three Exceeding Themes

For a service to be rated Exceeding NQS in a Quality Area, it must demonstrate all three of the following themes. Our self-assessment review helps you evidence each one confidently.

βš™οΈ

Embedded in Operations

Practice is consistent, sustainable, and visible across the whole service β€” not just in isolated incidents or individual educator behaviours.

πŸ”

Informed by Critical Reflection

Practice is regularly and genuinely reflected upon by educators and leaders, resulting in meaningful changes to how the service operates.

🀝

Shaped by Meaningful Engagement

Practice is authentically shaped by engagement with families and/or the broader community β€” their voices genuinely inform decisions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Submit your current Quality Improvement Plan β€” this can be your full document or just the goals and improvement areas you've been actively working on. The more context you provide (e.g., previous rating, focus areas), the more tailored your feedback will be. You can submit in any format: Word, PDF, or a direct export from your QIP management platform.
Submit your current key practice statements for one or more Quality Areas. You may also include your self-assessment ratings (Meeting, Exceeding, etc.) and any supporting notes or reflections. If you are preparing for an upcoming assessment and rating visit, include as many Quality Areas as possible to get the most comprehensive feedback.
After you submit your documents, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours with a secure payment link. Your review begins once payment has been confirmed. We accept all major payment methods. No review is commenced without completed payment.
You will receive a detailed written report, structured around your submitted documents. For QIP reviews, feedback is organised by goal β€” covering clarity of the identified issue, suggested improvement steps, success measures, and timeframes. For self-assessment reviews, feedback is organised by Quality Area and covers the strength of your key practice statements, how to better evidence the three Exceeding themes, and examples of stronger practice language.
Absolutely. All documents and service information submitted to us are treated with complete confidentiality. Your documents are used solely for preparing your personalised feedback report and are not retained, referenced publicly, or shared with any third party β€” ever.
Yes. For the self-assessment review, you can submit key practices for as many or as few Quality Areas as you choose. If you are focusing your preparation on specific areas, submitting just those is absolutely fine. The fee is the same regardless of the number of Quality Areas included.
Yes. We work with all approved education and care service types regulated under the National Quality Framework, including long day care, family day care, outside school hours care (OSHC), preschool and kindergarten, and mobile services. Feedback is always contextualised to your specific service type and the relevant approved learning framework (EYLF v2.0 or My Time, Our Place).
